Do’s
1. Get up as normal with your usual routine, including getting changed into ‘work clothes’ if appropriate
2. Use Technology – video calls/Microsoft Teams/Zoom/FaceTime etc.
3. Set “Work Hours” e.g. set a morning routine and stick to It
4. Make sure you call people for simple queries, email isn’t always the answer. Maintain your people interactions – some of us need this more than others, so make sure you use the technology, call people, just like you would if you were in the office.
5. Avoid “Work Creep” e.g. into the evening
6. Check your workspace – right desk height, monitor at eye level, appropriate chair etc. (where possible)
7. Make To-Do Lists – these help with structure
8. Eat a healthy lunch or snack
9. Exercise
10. Take short breaks
11. Leave the House e.g. use breaks to get fresh air and exercise – sticking to the Government rules of course
12. Listen to music (if it’s not distracting)
Don’ts
1. Don’t Work in Your PJs / Onesie!
2. Don’t Work in Front of the TV
3. Don’t work with your laptop on your lap
4. Try not to become distracted by social media – set a time to look at it later
5. Avoid family and pets whilst working / set clear boundaries with them about your allocated work time (where practical)
